The Shuttle Sales Specialist is part of the Sales & Marketing Team, responsible for the active off-site promotion of Capilano Suspension Bridge Park. The prime responsibility is to promote our free shuttle, free luggage storage, and express services from a variety of key strategic tourist locations in the Vancouver area.  Our Specialists will also encourage visitation to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park through our referral networks, ticket sellers, sightseeing and tour company partners.

Our Specialists support the on-site shuttle operations team with guests who need more in-depth information on Capilano. Promotion efforts start at Canada Place, with specific duties for the first part of the day. Afternoon activities will rotate through several other off-site locations in the downtown area (e.g. Gastown, Stanley Park, Bike rental areas, partner ticketing kiosks). Key sales tools will be the shuttle schedule and the $5 off savings coupon. Expanded sales activities may include calling on key hotels to ensure up-to-date shuttle information is on hand for their Guests and ongoing public relations with our sightseeing partners.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to a positive experience by connecting with our Guests
• Act as an external ambassador for Capilano Suspension Bridge Park with an engaging & knowledgeable personality and openness to tourists, developing guest interest in Capilano
• Respond to inquiries using effective selling techniques to promote the experience of visiting Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, The Cliff House Restaurant and Trading Post Retail Store
• Be fully conversant regarding the free shuttle, free luggage storage and the brand-new express services in effort to target time starved tourists
• Promote daily shuttles to potential Guests in-person at our Downtown locations
• Gain knowledge of the competition’s pricing, products and services
• Work in partnership with other Shuttle Team Members at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park to ensure consistency in Guests' experience
• Help manage peak demand times by creatively suggesting off peak shuttle times or alternative transportation options available to the Guests at that time
• Work with the Hop on/Hop off operators to ensure cross promotion of our attraction to their riders
• Be knowledgeable about Capilano Suspension Bridge Park, park information and history, through training and job shadowing of key gate and admission roles
• Assist Guests' with loading their luggage on the shuttle, and coordinating with Operations to ensure the shuttle service is safe & punctual
• Performs additional responsibilities or duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• 1 year experience in Guest Services, Retail, Tourism or Hospitality
• Working knowledge of the tourism industry desired
• University or college degree (or working towards) in a related discipline (ex. Tourism & Hospitality) is a strong asset
• Second language is considered an asset
• Must have a passion for Guest service, the city and its many sights
• Involvement in the local community and organizations is considered an asset

Considerations
The ideal candidate must be able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, as well as in off-site locations, in order to meet the needs of the business. Team Members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time. They are expected to deliver the position as described under various weather conditions. Occasionally, Team Members may be required to lift and carry up to 50lbs.

The wage for this role is $19.00 per hour.
